Jim McMahon Oath of Office
Foothill - De Anza CCD Police Department welcomes Assistant Chief of Police Jim McMahon. On Wednesday, January 6, 2010, Chief Ron Levine gave Jim McMahon the Oath of Office and swore McMahon in as the new Assistant Chief of Police for the District Police. McMahon will hold the dual title of Assistant Chief of Police and Director, Campus Safety and Security for De Anza College. While a Central Services District Employee, McMahon will the be the face of the District Police at De Anza College. McMahon fills the position vacated by Ben Rodriguez, who retired in 2008 after a long career with the College District.

Jim McMahon, a Santa Clara County resident for many years, brings a wide variety of experience to the position. Jim retired as a Sergeant with the San Jose Police Department and had served as the unit commander of the High Tech Crime Unit, along with the Child Exploitation Unit. After leaving SJPD, Jim worked as the Director of Global Security for Applied Materials, with worldwide responsibility of protecting assets for the company. Before returning to full-time law enforcement, Jim worked in the private sector as a Chief Information and Security Office for another Silicon Valley company.
